Tips for organizing your lake + camping holiday

Lake Monteynard & its Himalayan footbridges

Less than 15 km away, Lac de Monteynard-Avignonet is famous for its suspended footbridges (also known as “Himalayan footbridges”), a unique nature experience. Ideal for hikers, mountain bikers, swimmers and sports enthusiasts such as paddleboarding, windsurfing, sailing and kitesurfing.

Lac du Sautet

Another gem nearby is the Lac du Sautet, perfect for a picnic, a dip in the water or a spot of fishing. Tranquil atmosphere and wilderness setting guaranteed.
A day on the shores of one of these lakes means being close to the comforts of camping, yet totally unplugged.

Lakes of Laffrey, Petichet and Pierre-Châtel

These lakes offer a peaceful setting for gentle activities. Boats, pedalos and sailboats can be found on the calm waters of Laffrey. The Cholonge nautical base, to the south of Lac de Laffrey, offers sailing and catamaran outings and courses.
On Lac de Petichet, the Miradou pebble beach offers a splendid view of the Obiou.
In Pierre-châtel, the Cordeliers beach offers a beautiful grassy setting for picnics.
A second beach just next door is also dog-friendly.

Conclusion: lake + mountains = winning combo
