Just 10 minutes from Camping Le Champ Long, Corps is a small mountain village straddling the Isère and Hautes-Alpes departments. Known as the gateway to the sanctuary of Notre-Dame de La Salette, it’s also a charming place, with its lake, peaceful streets and breathtaking views of the Dévoluy.
A village between lake and mountains
Corps is a quiet place to discover on foot: a small church, stone houses, local shops and a lively local market on summer days. Don’t miss the belvedere on the Drac, with its plunging view of the gorge and mountains.
The village is also a departure point for the nearby Lac du Sautet, with its water sports, trails and via ferrata.
The sanctuary of Notre-Dame de La Salette
14 km above Corps, at an altitude of 1,800 m, stands the sanctuary of La Salette, France’s second-largest pilgrimage site after Lourdes. Access is by car or shuttle bus, via a panoramic mountain road. The site is impressive: a blend of spirituality, silence and nature. Even without a religious background, the view of the peaks and the peaceful atmosphere are well worth the detour.
