Camping near Lac du Sautet
Just 15 minutes from Camping Le Champ Long, Lac du Sautet is a little corner of paradise for all those who love nature and outdoor activities. Nestled between the Isère and Hautes-Alpes departments, this lake surrounded by mountains offers a spectacular setting for swimming, sailing, climbing or simply chilling out with the family.
Swimming, relaxation and water sports
In summer, the Sautet water sports center is one of the most pleasant in the region. The water is clear, bathing is supervised, and there’s everything you need for a cool or active day:
-Kayak, paddle, pedalo or electric boat rental
-Picnic area and beach
-Snack bar for lunch or a drink overlooking the lake
It’s also a perfect place for families: no crowds, safe surroundings, and a magnificent view of the Dévoluy cliffs.
An outdoor spot with a view
Looking for a little more adrenalin? Try the Via Ferrata du Sautet, which starts at the top of the dam and overlooks the lake. Accessible from age 12, the course offers a clever mix of suspension bridges, ladders and aerial passages – all with an incredible view. It’s also a great place to hike or fish in peace and quiet.
A well-deserved rest at the campsite
After your day on the water, return to Camping Le Champ Long for a shower, a dip in the pool or a barbecue evening under the stars. The campsite is so close that you can even return to the lake the next day to try out another activity!
