The specialities
The salted goat
This is a typical dish in Matheysine, traditionally served on All Saints' Day. It is a meat simmered with seasonal vegetables (potatoes, cabbage and various garden vegetables).
The brouqueton
A variety of quenelle made of potatoes, flour, onions and eggs. They can be found in the form of gratin, boiled or fried.
Donkey ears
Specialty named like this because of its shape, these are ravioles with green chard.
The Muroise pie
A hearty pie filled with meat (pork, veal), mushrooms, olives and onions. It is eaten golden and crispy, served with a nice salad.
The Salettina
The recipe of the liqueur invented by Maximin Giraud, one of the two children who saw the Virgin at La Salette, was carefully written down and kept in the house of its creator, in the heart of the village of Corps. It is still there that the 21 plants that make up the tasty beverage are macerated and distilled.
